iled Under (FlyGuy and the Cessna, Good Things, Little Lassie) by Lassie on 04-08-2008

Six months ago today Little Lassie joined our home. We are still waiting for the letter that tells us the adoption is final. This still feels unbelievable to me. In the past, I often wondered what our child would be like. I can’t believe I’ve known her for six months already. I keep expecting motherhood to feel less thrilling, but it never does. I haven’t forgotten the pain of infertility, (it can still bring me tears if I dwell on it), but I don’t feel the pain of infertility anymore. People always told me there was light at the end of the tunnel. I didn’t believe them. They were right.

As it once was:
February 4, 2008 Little Lassie’s first day home with us. She struggles to get away from FlyGuy who scares her because he is so big and has such a deep voice.

As it is now.
FlyGuy beams as Little Lassie relaxes in Daddy’s arms.

Little Lassie seemed like such a baby then. Now she is a confident and happy toddler. The transition is amazing. It is such a treat to see how Little Lassie’s eyes light up when her Daddy walks in the door.

I can understand why the thrill of motherhood has not diminished. You waited a long time. The blessing of Little Lassie in your life is worth celebrating every day. She brings joy to so many people.

It is so wonderful to hear how LL is bonding to FlyGuy. I hope you get that final confirmation soon. It’s a crucial step in claiming your daughter. Enjoy the slow pace of summer in Virginia. These are times to treasure. xx

The thrill of a lifetime, glad you have it firsthand. You ought to be proud of how your little family gracefully made adjustments and are now working well together as a unit. All the time previous to having LL and then the past 6 months. ALL new Moms and Dads don’t know if they are coming or going at first. You guys are doing GREAT!!! Wish you were here. Miss you!
