iled Under (FlyGuy and the Cessna, Good Things, Little Lassie) by Lassie on 17-06-2008

Our first Father’s Day was very nice. At FlyGuy’s request I made a cherry pie. Apparently, in his family his dad was always treated to a cherry pie on Father’s Day. I find it odd FlyGuy never mentioned this to me before, but its a soft spot for FlyGuy because he lost his dad suddenly when he was in college.
As far as gifts go, Little Lassie got her daddy a dough hook for his kitchenaide mixer. He wore the last dough hook out because he’s a fierce “from scratch” bread maker. She also got him a Super Dad t-shirt. FlyGuy kept saying he didn’t want any gifts, acted shocked when we brought out the packages then got teary-eyed when he saw the shirt.

We both still find it hard to believe our good fortune.

Daddy and Little Lassie show off FlyGuy’s new shirt. (FlyGuy’s father looks on in the photo on the right.)

I love the way she is perched on his arm like she’s the happiest girl on earth!
Happy belated!

i am so happy for you and your dh and of course your baby. the last two father’s days have been clouded with the deaths of our two babies at 22 weeks and 23 weeks gestations. i have hope that one day on a father’s day no less, the same image of daddy and baby will play out in our home. i’m so glad that you have a wonderful resolution and are parents.
